Ernest Hemingway

He is an famous American writer and in my opinion one of the best writer, who has ever lived. He was born in1899 in the USA He died in 1961. And also in young years he had first experiences with writing and with work of reporter.

After start of 1stWW for Americans he was member of volunteer red cross unit in Italy and he was seriously injured.

Lost generation is name for authors who belonged to generation, which had experiences with first world war, lost generation includes authors as Francis Scott Fitzgerald, John Steinbeck, William Faulkner or Erich Maria Remarque.

After 1stWW Ernest definitely became a full-time writer and reporter. He also travelled a lot. For example he travelled  through Africa and he hunted and also he firstly visited Cuba.

Hemingway also operated in Spain during Spanish civil war as a reporter and he also fought in 2ndWW.

After 2ndWW Hemingway lived in Cuba and in 1954 he got the Nobel Prize for his famous book The Old Man and the Sea

Unlucky Hemingway had problems with depression and he also had positive relation with alcohol. So in 1961 he shot himself and we don’t know if it was a suicide or an accident.

The hero of his books are mans who fight with their destinies, they are powerful and unbroken and also his stories are tragic.
